Enjoy a magnificent day of discovery in the Dominican countryside: sugar cane, local ranches, tobacco factories, remote villages, and tropical rainforests. We will pick you up aboard our truck from your hotel in Bayahibe and begin to explore the Dominican countryside, driving through stunning landscapes before our first stop. 

The truck will take you to a Batey, in a village where the sugar cane cutters and their families reside. Subsequently, you will head to a handcrafted cigar factory, where you will discover the mastery of the torcedores. If you wish, you will be able to taste the finest cigars of the Dominican Republic. We will continue with a visit to the local market in Higüey and its typical stalls. 

The morning will conclude with a visit to a private plantation located in the heights of the city of Higüey, in Anamuya, where you can discover all the varieties that Dominican nature has to offer. 

Once we have finished lunch, we will head to Altos de Chavón, where we will board a motorized platform that will allow us to return downstream. A stop will be scheduled for us to swing from the vine and jump into the river. 

Onboard this barge, we will continue our journey to the dam, where the safari truck will be waiting to take us back to Bayahibe.
